Step #2 requires you to register with the Volunteer Office of the Athens 2004 Organizing Committee. This is the Office that places Volunteers in specific jobs at the Olympics according to their personal skills. To do that, you must fill out the online Official Volunteer Registration Form.
This Form asks all Volunteers to provide their personal details and their preferences of what capacity they want to contribute. Online registration will guarantee that the Volunteer Office will receive it promptly and store it immediately on their computer database.
It is important that applicants list all their skills and whether they will be able to volunteer at the Olympic Games and/or Paralympic Games. Also, if you have access to living accommodations in the Metropolitan Athens area and possess a thorough knowledge of Athens, make mention of this too. There are other Olympic cities that will host events and they are Thessaloniki, Patra, Iraklio, and Volo. If you like, you can indicate these cities as your preference instead and be assigned to either city as long as your living accomodations are secured.
Eventually, you will receive an Itinerary of where you will be volunteering, at what capacity, and at which particular Games. Athens 2004 will give the option to change an aspect of the Volunteer Itinerary if Volunteers feel there are conflicts.
